I hope everyone had a fine Valentine's Day. Woke up here to a thick blanket of snow covering the landscape, with light snowfall throughout the day. Perfectly lovely day, and a fine setting for taking those Valentine's nudes. You have your traditions, we have ours.
One of those traditions is enjoying a not-holiday movie after our holiday meal. We really weren't sure to expect with this one, but had to give it a go - and were rather pleased with the choice after viewing.
Have you seen this one yet?
BTW - The animated version of Gotham By Gaslight is out if you haven't seen it yet. Happily, they changed the story for those who read the original, but generally kept the feel.
Y'know - I wish the folks who handle much of DC's animated movies had control of the live action end of things. Even the failures would be more entertaining.
Long day today, and longer tomorrow, so sleep now, more answers and musings later.

It's Treatable With Flowers And Chocolates
Meanwhile, back at the comic books on Valentine's Day...
Even Lone Wolf characters like Batman are into Valentine's Day-
Who would have thought that over 50 years ago DC was supporting gay couples and non-monogamous relationships in 1966:
That's what's going on there, right?
Anyway...
The idea that Love is beyond Death leaves us with...
Let's wrap up our Valentine's Day covers and cards the way we started them - with Spidey & Deady(?!)-

At Least There's No Massacre
Looking around at the world today, it's hard not to feel longings for a sweeter, more loving time.
You know, like it used to be on Valentine's Day...
What the frell did i just see?
Apparently this "love" stuff has been pretty sick & twisted all along...
After all the lewd puns, threats, masochism, bondage, pussy licking, topless man-eaters, and what all in the other cards, that last one still manages to be extra creepy in its way.
So next time, we'll come back with some nice, wholesome comic book Valentines.
Okay, yeah. That's a whole 'nother level of creepy.
But still better than the look on CM's face for this stalker Valentine -
Eek!

Valentine's Day - who loves it more and does it better - Deadpool or Spider-Man?
Contemplate your decision, then follow the break to see my vote, if you care.
Either way, we'll be back with more V.D. a few times throughout the day.

Covering Their Behinds
We haven't done covers in a while - possibly not since the King Kirby 100 back in August. We're probably overdue. So here's a big set of two dozen covers.
But let's keep things a little different (odd, even) and avoid the front covers this time. After all, one never knows what might be found lurking out back...

covers from various issues of Anti-Social, Batman-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Brat Pack, Consumer Comix, Cops 'N Dopers, Crazy, Crazy Man Crazy, Dr. Wirtham's Comix & Stories, Eclipse Magazine, Hot Stuf', Mother's Oats, Plop!, Requiem For Jack Kirby, Strange Days, and Wild Animals (so many years)
NOTE: Apologies for the lack of labels on this post. Blogger limits how many characters may be used in the labels, but cruelly refuses to tell the user how many characters are currently in use. After multiple edits and omissions failed to meet the limit, "Oh, fuck it!" worked just fine. Thanks, Blogger!

BBBlue Monday
We're taking a look at a little seen side of a popular artist with the initials B. B., hence our stuttering subject line for today's edition of
Our featured artist today is one you might not expect to see here. Brian Bolland is well known for his finely detailed delineations and his realistic style, but you virtually never see real nudity from the man. Very nearly in The Killing Joke, but not to erotic effect. Kinda/sorta in The Doom Patrol in a not-quite-human/stare-back-at-you kind of way. Usually, at most there's an erotic undercurrent, such as in these images...
...and even then, he's hat-tipping to Chaykin that third piece.
But... Once upon a time, 40 years ago, in a magical place across the sea, there was Little Nympho In Slumberland...
This odd bit of Bolland comes to us from the short lived Graphixus magazine -
We've seen a bit or two from Graphixus previously, and we'll certainly return to this self-describedly Odd book in the future.
Okay - They didn't use the word Odd, but, as Garry Leach said -
I'm going to call that close enough in intent.
