Secret Of The Altron Boy - Part The Second

Continuing (from this morning's post) the complete adventures of the Altron Boy from Larry Ivie and his Monsters and Heroes zine -

...but they never awoke.

The Covers:

Issue #6 featured a John Carter cover instead of Altron Boy, so we'll save that for another Monsters and Heroes post.

Secret Of The Altron Boy - Part The First

One reason this blog was started was rescuing old fan comics from the dark recesses of lost history. Today, let's take a look at the Altron Boy from Larry Ivie and his short-lived, but excellent, Monsters and Heroes zine -

Already looking pretty zootie, eh?

Altron Boy's adventures debuted in 1967 and ran through all seven issues of M&H over the next 3 years, for a total of 54 pages spread over 9 or 10 chapters, depending on how one counts.

We'll come back later (stop laughing) to look at Monsters and Heroes and some of the great material contained therein. But for today, let's get carried away and run the complete Altron Boy comics. (We'll look at the TV Pilot another time, okay?) To my knowledge, the series has never been collected or reprinted, and only the first chapter has ever appeared online. It's well past time to correct that.

Since we are looking at 60 pages (including covers), let's split this into two posts. Part I this morning, Part II this afternoon.

You don't need to wait too long. The second half is in 9 hours - 3:33pm, Pacific Hermit Time.
