Somehow slept for about 15 hours. Brain & body not reconnecting after time apart. So here's a couple Ellis Chambers quickies for a Sunday Morning Funnies post -
Of course, with Ellis Chambers, that could have ended much more darkly. In fact, one might even ponder if perhaps the story could have been a reaction to an editor asking him to lighten up a bit on the fate of the bad guys. But that's nothing more than a touch of random speculation triggered by the way he teased with the "You don't mean - murder!" bit. And, y'know - the number of times his stories have ended in death.
(Hooray! I wrote that bit yesterday, so we gots some words in there.)
